{"id":8,"date":"2017-01-24T09:31:45","date_gmt":"2017-01-24T09:31:45","guid":{"rendered":"http:\/\/147.102.205.205\/summer-school\/?page_id=8"},"modified":"2017-03-03T10:45:40","modified_gmt":"2017-03-03T10:45:40","slug":"home","status":"publish","type":"page","link":"https:\/\/sites.math.ntua.gr\/summer-school\/","title":{"rendered":"Home"},"content":{"rendered":"<h2>Summer School in Nonlinear Partial Differential Equations<\/h2>\n<p>The <a href=\"http:\/\/www.math.ntua.gr\" target=\"_blank\">Division of Mathematics<\/a>\u00a0of the <a href=\"http:\/\/www.semfe.ntua.gr\" target=\"_blank\">School of Applied Mathematical and Physical Sciences<\/a>\u00a0at the National Technical University of Athens (<a href=\"https:\/\/www.ntua.gr\/en\/\" target=\"_blank\">NTUA<\/a>) is organising a Summer School in nonlinear Partial Differential Equations.<\/p>\n<p>The School will run 20-24 June 2017 at the NTUA campus in Athens, Greece. The targeted audience are advanced undergraduate and graduate students in Mathematics. The courses to be taught are<\/p>\n<ul>\n<li><em>Nonlinear wave equations and the stability of flat spacetime,<\/em> by <a href=\"https:\/\/www.dpmms.cam.ac.uk\/~md384\/\" target=\"_blank\">Mihalis Dafermos<\/a> (University of Cambridge &amp; Princeton University) and <a href=\"https:\/\/web.math.princeton.edu\/~gm6\/\" target=\"_blank\">Georgios Moschidis<\/a> (Princeton University)<\/li>\n<li><em>Nonlinear systems of conservation laws and related models in fluid dynamics and applied sciences,\u00a0<\/em>by <a href=\"http:\/\/www.math.umd.edu\/~trivisa\/\">Konstantina Trivisa<\/a> (University of Maryland, College Park)<\/li>\n<li><em>The equations of nonlinear elasticity and related models,\u00a0<\/em>by <a href=\"https:\/\/www.kaust.edu.sa\/en\/study\/faculty\/athanasios-tzavaras\">Athanasios Tzavaras<\/a> (King Abdullah University of Science and Technology)<\/li>\n<\/ul>\n<p>There will also be a small number of colloquial talks. Confirmed speakers so far are<\/p>\n<ul>\n<li><a href=\"https:\/\/www.brown.edu\/academics\/applied-mathematics\/constantine-dafermos\" target=\"_blank\">Constantine Dafermos<\/a> (Brown University)<\/li>\n<\/ul>\n<p>The courses and talks will be given in English. There is no registration fee, but the number of participants is limited. Please apply by <strong>23rd\u00a0April<\/strong>. Financial assistance in the form of meals and lodging will be available to selected participants.
